Beijing, China (178) - China's Shanda Games will launch the Korean 3D comic-adapted MMORPG Dragon Ball Online in the country within 2011, said CEO of the company Tan Qunzhao at 2010 China Game Industry Annual Conference, which has been just open today.
There was a rumor saying that four Chinese online game companies were competing for the license of Dragon Ball Online in China, including Shanda Games, Tencent, 9you and Mttang, but the recent rumor unveiled that only Shanda Games and Tencent were still holding on this. Now the answer is Shanda Games made it to the end.
What's worth mentioning is that Shanda Games also has acquired the license of Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIV last year, so the game will also enter China in the near future.
As a comic-adapted online game, Dragon Ball Online shows us an amazing world in the original story with an MMO experience. Players are able to adventures of their own in the game, just like those characters in the comic.
The game was developed by Korean NTL-Inc under the support of Bandai's branch office in Korea. Series creator Akira Toriyama has a great deal of creative control over the project, both contributing to and supervising the story and art design, including character and location arrangements.
